There have been many times on safari when hippos were close by. Once in Zambia we could hear them "laughing" as we showered! I guess we look funny to them naked!
Joking aside they are dangerous animals and you should always heed warnings when you are in hippo territory!
Hippos are the most dangerous animal in Africa! Their powerful jaws can crush a man instantly. The can be very irritable and you never want to get in between a hippo and water!
