"When should my photo become a painting?"
This is a question I often ask myself.
When something so amazing occurs that neither words nor photography can express how I feel, a painting is born!
In painting my emotions can flow through my brush with each stroke. A painting is more intimate, a piece of who I am. Emotions become tangible in the texture of the paint and richness of the color. When you bring one of my paintings into your life, you gain not only a closer connection to the subject, but also to me, and in this often learn something more about yourself!

Photography
Photography is creating art with light and technology. I design each piece, composing with my view finder, lighting and my own positioning. I research places and species and have many early mornings. Using some post processing I am able to bring my visions to life evoking emotion and bringing you into the wonders of the natural world!

SUPPORTING EACH OTHER
Art as beauty is not enough. I have a responsibility to educate and inspire conservation through my work. I must also be active in my support and pledge a portion of all proceeds to groups whose tireless work and courage inspire me. I choose the recipient based on the individual piece. Some of which include the Soysambu Conservancy, the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, the African Wildlife Foundation, the Cheetah Conservation Fund, the Ocean Conservancy and the Nature Conservancy.
“There is no great nobility in creating an incredible painting... The art must accomplish something greater than its mere existence, it is a vehicle whose destination is to leave a greater appreciation for wild things and wild places, to share the drama and magic of the natural world...If I am going to be remembered for anything, it is just as a person who caused people to think and realize how important wildlife is.”
